How much does a restaurant website cost in the UK?

Straight figures for independent restaurants, cafés and pubs: what each route really costs, what a menu page must do, and why the £79-a-month option is the expensive one.

A restaurant website in the UK costs £490–£2,490 as a one-off build, or roughly £79–£250 a month on the managed subscriptions most hospitality providers sell. Traditional agencies quote £3,000–£11,500 for the same job. For an independent restaurant, café or pub, the honest sweet spot is a fixed-price build in the £900–£1,500 range.

What a restaurant site actually needs (and what inflates the bill)

The monthly trap, in restaurant numbers

£79 a month is comfortably affordable — that's the point of it. But it's £948 a year, and £4,740 over five years, at which point you own nothing: stop paying and the site, and often the domain, go with it. A £990 one-off build with the same page count is a single payment you keep. Over any timeframe a restaurant actually plans in, the "cheap" option is the expensive one.

What we'd charge and why

£490 buys a strong one-page site — menu, story, booking, location — which is genuinely enough for a small café. £990 buys the multi-page version with local SEO, which is what most restaurants and pubs should be on. £2,490 covers a 30-page build for somewhere with function rooms, multiple menus or accommodation. All one-off, all yours, live in 7–10 days.

Common questions

How much does a website cost for a small restaurant or café?

A strong one-page site costs around £490 as a one-off; a full multi-page site with local SEO is £900–£1,500. Hospitality subscriptions run £79–£250 a month, and traditional agencies quote £3,000–£11,500 for comparable work.

Should my menu be a PDF on the website?

No — it's the most common and most costly mistake. A PDF menu is hard to read on a phone, invisible to Google, and adds a download step between a hungry visitor and a booking. The menu should be a fast, readable page.

Is a £79/month restaurant website good value?

It's affordable monthly and genuinely hands-off, which suits some operators. But it's £4,740 over five years and you own nothing at the end. A one-off build of the same scope is a single payment you keep, so over any realistic timeframe it costs less.

Can you connect my booking or delivery system?

Yes. We link whatever you already use — OpenTable, ResDiary, Deliveroo, Uber Eats, Just Eat, your own ordering platform or WhatsApp. There's no need to add another subscription just to take bookings.
